This wonderful holiday to south-east Tasmania takes you to some of the most scenic locations in Hobart, on Bruny Island and on the Tasman Peninsula. We will stay in first-class accommodation, indulge in gourmet experiences and take some fascinating tours. The holiday also includes an enjoyable program of bridge lessons and duplicate sessions.
The holiday commences with five nights in Hobart at the Henry Jones Art Hotel, a multi-award-winning five-star hotel built within a row of historic waterfront warehouses dating from the 1820s. The hotel is surrounded by cafés, restaurants, galleries and antique shops. A short walk away is central Hobart with its elegant colonial architecture. Also nearby are Salamanca Place and Battery Point with restaurants, bars, historic houses and churches.
While in Hobart we will enjoy a cruise up the Derwent River to visit the exciting MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) and a full-day trip to Bruny Island to see its spectacular scenery and savour delicious local produce.
We travel to the Tasman Peninsula for two nights at Stewarts Bay Lodge with accommodation in well-appointed cabins set in tranquil bushland. We will see some great coastal views, visit a lavender farm in full bloom and have a guided tour of the World Heritage listed Port Arthur Historic Site.
On our way back to Hobart we will stop at Richmond, famous for its convict-built bridge, churches and historic Georgian buildings. Our holiday concludes with a winetasting and lunch at Frogmore Creek Wines in the Coal River Valley.
